Designing calm, character-led homes through materials sensitivity and spatial clarity.
This Victorian home explores a quiet dialogue between heritage and modern craft. The project reflects a love of collecting - from African carved wooden pillows to hand-thrown Japanese ceramics and works by local artists - pieces chosen for their cultural resonance and sculptural presence.
The layout was carefully reimagined to enhance light and flow while preserving the home’s original character. A new conservatory transformed an awkward corner into a luminous sitting area, while large sliding doors and enlarged French doors dissolve the boundary between dining and garden, drawing daylight deep into the living spaces and creating a sense of balance and ease throughout.
Upstairs, calm bedrooms and a newly created en-suite continue the same sense of quiet refinement. The result is a home of tactile calm, quiet strength, and enduring balance
