Arkwright Road Apartment, Hampstead

A refurbishment focused on spatial clarity, decluttering, and delivered within a modest budget.

This compact two-bedroom top-floor apartment was reconfigured to improve flow, light quality, and everyday functionality within a restrained material palette.

The layout was re-planned to create two shower rooms, including an en-suite, alongside a reconfigured bedroom arrangement. Opening up the kitchen allowed natural light to travel more freely into the living area, improving the sense of openness across the apartment.

Design decisions prioritised built-in solutions and decluttering over surface-driven change. Bespoke joinery integrates concealed air conditioning and a flip-down work desk in the living space, with additional bedroom joinery incorporating a desk and integrated wardrobe. Storage is distributed throughout the apartment to support everyday organisation without visual clutter.

The result is an apartment that feels lighter, calmer, and more generous than its original footprint suggests, demonstrating how thoughtful planning and material restraint can significantly enhance compact living.
