The Vale Semi-Detached House, Finchley

Designing calm, character-led homes through materials sensitivity and spatial clarity.

This project involved reworking the bedroom and en-suite layout to improve flow, privacy and spatial balance. The revised arrangement allows the bathroom to function as a calm extension of the bedroom, with clearly defined zones for bathing, vanity and shower seating.

A restrained palette and consistent material language create a quiet, cohesive atmosphere — balancing functionality with a sense of everyday luxury.

Beyond the bedroom suite, the project included a series of thoughtful upgrades across the house:

  • Introduction of an upstairs laundry to simplify daily routines

  • Enclosure of the living room to improve zoning and acoustic comfort

  • Refinement of the stair balustrade to enhance safety and visual clarity

  • Reconfiguration of the entrance steps in natural stone to strengthen the sense of arrival
